Summary:

A UV curing machine is an advanced device specifically designed for ultraviolet curing applications.

A UV curing machine is an advanced device specifically designed for ultraviolet curing applications. It utilizes a specific wavelength of UV light to rapidly cure materials such as adhesives and coatings. This equipment is widely used in the electronics industry, optical component manufacturing, and automotive painting, demonstrating significant performance advantages, particularly in the production of optical lenses and PCB boards.

Types

Types of UV Curing Machines: Different sizes of items to be cured require different sized curing machines. There are handheld models, desktop cabinet models, hanging models for industrial production, and large curing machines for large items. For small items such as electronic circuit boards, handheld or desktop cabinet models are suitable. If the curing application is printing or wood surface coating, a large, high-power UV curing machine is required because ordinary small curing machines are not suitable due to the requirements for speed, curing area, and machine power. There is also a desktop conveyor belt UV curing system designed for mass production or laboratory use. This conveyor belt system features a quiet variable-speed motor; the speed adjustment driver maintains a consistent conveyor belt speed under different loads. The UV machine is equipped with a high-intensity light source, and the lamp box system can be moved and fixed to other production lines, increasing the flexibility of the equipment. The height of the conveyor belt to the lamp is adjustable, suitable for curing components of different sizes.

Scope of Application

Applications: Special Printing: Widely applicable to printing special effects such as crystal ice flowers, frosted finish, crystal gemstones, and iridescent embossed paint on substrates such as screen printing, offset printing, letterpress printing, self-adhesive labels, metal nameplates, KT boards, glass, ceramics, electronic components, and single-sided circuit boards. Coating: Gloss coating of wood surfaces, varnishing of paper surfaces, coating of plastic flooring and fiber optic cables. Instant drying, saving time and increasing production efficiency. Achieves high gloss, abrasion resistance, and solvent resistance on printed surfaces. The conveyor belt has stepless speed regulation and an anti-deviation device to ensure smooth transport. Imported Teflon mesh belt with stable and adjustable conveying speed, easily connected to production lines and other equipment. Each UV system is independently controlled, adjusting the number of lamps activated according to production needs. Utilizes a special aluminum-magnesium alloy lampshade with a focusing design for high production efficiency. The working UV current of the UV lamps can be controlled via an external indicator, effectively monitoring the UV system's operating status. Equipped with a reasonable heat dissipation system to prevent excessive temperature in the working chamber from causing paper deformation. Heat is dissipated outdoors through a heat dissipation system, effectively protecting the production and working environment.

Principle of UV Curing

When exposed to ultraviolet light, the photoinitiator undergoes a chemical reaction, synthesizing independent oligomers and monomers into more complex chains. These chains are called polymers, and this bonding process is called photopolymerization. Through this photopolymerization reaction, objects and materials can be dried and bonded.

Photoinitiation Stage: Under ultraviolet irradiation, the photoinitiator absorbs photon energy and is activated, causing its outer electrons to jump, forming active electron-hole pairs.

Generation of Free Radicals or Ions: These active electron-hole pairs can excite surrounding molecules into free radicals or ions, such as oxygen free radicals and carbocations.

Polymerization, Grafting, and Crosslinking Reactions: These free radicals or ions then interact with unsaturated groups in the resin, initiating or promoting the breaking of double bonds in the resin, achieving continuous polymerization, as well as grafting and crosslinking between resins, ultimately forming a solid film.

Chain Growth and Termination: During the polymerization process initiated by these free radicals or ions, the system undergoes further crosslinking over time, curing into a film. Meanwhile, free radicals can terminate the chain through coupling or disproportionation.
